Benyamin is an Indian novelist and short story writer who writes in Malayalam, with his works translated into more than ten languages, including English and Arabic. In 2009, his novel Aadu Jeevitham (Goat Days) won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award. It was translated into English by Joseph Koyyippally and shortlisted for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature, 2013. In 2018, Benyamin won the inaugural JCB Prize for Literature and the Crossword Book Award for his novel Mullapoo Niramulla Pakalukal (Jasmine Days), translated into English by Shahnaz Habib.
