Lisa Rose

About The Author

Lisa Rose is the author of The Singer and the Scientist (Kar-Ben Publishing, 2021), which was a National Jewish Book Finalist and featured in the American Masters PBS special about Marian Anderson. It was also selected as a Bank Street College Best Book and for the National Book Festival at the Library of Congress.

She is also the author of Shmulik Paints the Town (Kar-Ben Publishing, 2016), a PJ Library Selection in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Lisa’s A Zombie Vacation (Apples & Honey Press, 2020) was a PJ Library Selection in 2021. She also wrote Star Powers (Rourke Educational Media, 2019), a six-book chapter book series about a second-grade girl who wants to be an astronaut and uses a wheelchair. Star Powers was a featured book for the company at ALA in June 2019. In January 2023, Lisa’s Senor Saguaro: The King of the Desert was published by Little Fig.

Lisa is a former first-grade teacher and reading specialist. She lives in Michigan, where sometimes she is a mermaid.
