Mark Lee Gardner is the author of To Hell on a Fast Horse, a dual biography of Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett. An authority on the American West, he has appeared on the History Channel, the Travel Channel, PBS’s The American Experience, NPR, and BBC Radio. He has written for the Los Angeles Times, the Daily Beast, True West, and American Cowboy. Gardner lives with his family at the foot of Pikes Peak in Cascade, Colorado.
