SA Parks grew up in Southern California before finishing high school in a small logging town in Oregon. After earning a bachelor’s degree in religious studies, she married and raised two daughters while teaching general studies, media, and journalism part time. She picked up her MEd in Creative Arts along the way. Her first book, In the Face of Flying Glass: Susie Parks, Border Town Hero of the Pancho Villa Raid, was published by Sunstone Press in 2023. Today, she lives on 25 beautiful acres in the country with a loyal pit bull mix, a temperamental orange cat, and a variety of two- and four-legged friends.
