About The Book
Three Triceratops brothers by the name of Tuff are on a mission to find some grub. There’s just one thing standing in their way: a Tyrannosaurus Rex who has a very different idea of what’s for dinner! The Tuff brothers must find a way to outsmart this bossy beast, for their very lives—and a bounty of delicious greens—hang in the balance.
This vividly illustrated story transplants the classic tale of “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” into the Cretaceous period, where dino fans of all ages will enjoy seeing their favorite subjects use their smarts to battle it out for dinner.

Raves and Reviews
“This version of “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” will satisfy dinosaur lovers who just cannot get their fill of their favorite prehistoric beasts…. Shaskan’s dinos are delightfully individualized…. Dino lovers will be charmed.”
– Kirkus Reviews, February 2013
"In this amusing retelling of “The Three Billy Goats Gruff,” the goats are replaced by a triceratops trio, and the nasty troll here is a Tyrannosaurus rex…. Humorous turns of phrase (“Once upon a time, sixty-eight million years ago . . .”) make this an entertaining read aloud selection, and teachers and libraries will appreciate the usefulness of the folktale connection and dinosaur theme.”
– Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books, May 2013
